Journal 12-03-07 Monday

    What we did today was that Ms. Jansen showed us how to make websites using pb wiki. This is all we did today on this project. We also just made a name for this website and divided the work up evenly.

    Another thing that we accomplished was to follow the instructions. I did look up a websites but that is about it. I couldn’t find anything though. So I still can’t find my information. It starts getting pretty tough that I just stopped looking things up after 20 minutes.

Journal 12-4-07 Tuesday

    On this day during class all we did was to make our timeline for the layout of our project. It was pretty intense since we did take notes, we had to finish in a period of time. Then Sam and I just planned the layout of the amount of research we were going to do a die.

    It was a fortunate thing that we did this since it was layed out as we should research some different topic about our bacteria each day. Therefore we made our lives much easier by doing this.

Journal 12-5-07 Wednesday

    Today all that I accomplished was to start my research on the actual first topic. This was an amazingly hard task to accomplish. I could not find much of what was needed. The results I got were the scientific name and two measly facts about it.

    The first place that I researched was in all the websites of the databases and I asked for the results under petroleum eating bacteria and I didn't get any results. This was a really stressing thing. So what I decided to do was to research on the free web. It's probably not as accurate as the databases but at least they have information about our subject. On the freeweb I found two pretty nice websites that work and are educational college websites so they have to be pretty accurate. I also checked if they had information. What I found where that the roots of the web were all coming from a professor of a college. I spent a total of three hours to find a species name and two facts about our bacteria.

Journal 12-6-07 Thursday

    Today we went over the lab we were suopposed to do. We also worked on the project a bit in class but it wasn't much. All we did was to edit the front page. Another thing that we did is ask Mrs. Rasmussen about our bacteria. It turns out that it seems to be really hard to find any information on our bacteria.

    We looked through weebsites and tried different keywords and all we found in the databases were some attributes of the bacteria, but nothing really valuable. In the end I found something after 10 minutes so it wasn't as bad.

Journal 12-7-07 Friday

    All that I did today was to look through the databases and see if I find any usefull information. The first thing I used to research was to use the genus name I found on the freeweb. This was really helpful and it help me find one or two more articles, but only one spoke about our genus.

Journal 12-8 and 9-07 Weekend 

    This weekend I looked everything up I had to do. The only thing that is still to be researched is the reproduction. Once we do this we will be all done. So the only thing that I did today was to start looking up the rest of our information using the genus of our bacteria.

    First I just started with everything that came up. I was really kind of desperate to find anything on this subject. I guess the clicking did work. I found a good website so i clicked and just some guy made it. He seems to be a proffesor since he did write books. So it seems okay. Then I looked furhter on for the classification name and I found everything I needed of a taxanomy website so these two websites saved me. This was the way this day ended.

Journal 12-10-07 Monday

    Today all I did was to find out four out of 6 the topics that I need to find out. All I need to do is to start typing the notes.

    This is all I accomplished on this date.

Journal 12-11-07 Tuesday

    Today what happened was that I looked for the reroduction of our bacteria. I first started off by looking through anyting that had to do with Pseudomonas putida on google. I clicked through a lot but they were either really complicated sources or I already had that info.

    I failed to find anything over my topic on reproduction using google. So I just stopped looking for this info. Then I just took a quick peek to see if they had anything under nutritional requirements for P. putida but they gave the same results as that of reproducrion and were useless. I also woorked on the pre lab for science class.

 All that gone today was to work on a lab during science.

Work on second part of the confirmation lab and finish lab report.

Journal 12-14-07 Friday

    Today Mrs. Rasmussen went over everything that we needed to turn in for this project. She told us that we had a few evaluations due. This is what we did in science class.

    I did the same thing on my research as I had done on Tuesday. I looked further in but still was very unolucky to find anything. I started to get really mad and stopped doing it because it is really hard to look for stuff and not find anything after two hours. Therefore I just gave up. I did do my bibliography though so I guess I did accomplish something.

Journal 12-15-07 Saturday

    Today what I accomplished was something major. I still olooked for different things and different ways for the same stuffe. Still I didn't find anything. So I decided to go down to the library after 5:00. Well my mom took me but once again with luck the library was closed.

    Then we came home ate and decided to go the UT library. Well we got there and it closed at 6:00  so we were 10 minutes short. When I got home I looked for this stuff on the web. Then I noticed how google wasn't getting me any results. This is when I decided to use yahoo for the free web and I finally found stuff. It was a little complicated to understand but then I found a pdf file that had around 100 pages on Pseudomonas and this is were I found everything I needed.

Journal 12-16-07 Sunday

    All that I did was to paste all my notes and everything on to the web. Now I had all the info and it was time to put all on the web. Then I told sam to send it to our teachers since I had finish with everything.

    This was all I did for my project and I had finally finished.
