Pseudomonas Putida

 

Classification: The Pseudomonas putida is the scientific name of our petroleum eating bacteria. It has an aerobic metabolism. For the reason for why it is called a petroleum eating bacteria go to our history section under sam's notes. If you wish to see the formal scientific name click here.

 

Gram Stain: The gram stain of Pseudomonas putida is negative.

 

Structure: Pseudomonas putida consist of a flagellum therfore it consists of movement. Our bacteria does not contain any spores. It is also rod shaped.

 

Habitat: Plays important role in some decompisition and is foung in soil and water as their habitat. Has been able to survive in soil where there is more clay. It also has been able to survive for more than a year in sterile water.

 

Nutritional Growth: I found out that our bacteria is a chemautotroph.

 

Reproduction: What I got for this was that this bacteria is asexual.
